Foot Pain Slowing You Down? 4 Natural Ways to Fight The Pain

Foot pain can stop you from doing the things you enjoy doing. If you've already been to your foot doctor, you probably already have a treatment plan in place. However, there are some things you can be doing at home that will help relieve some of the pain you're experiencing. Take a look at a few of the natural treatments for foot pain.

Epsom Salt Baths

Epsom salt is made almost entirely of magnesium, which works great at relieving pain and inflammation. Pour four tablespoons of Epsom salt in a plastic wash basin. Place your feet in the water and soak them for about 20 minutes. You can repeat this several times a day.

Clove Oil Massages

Clove oil is highly effective at relieving all types of pain. It also works to improve circulation, which can be a cause of foot pain. Place a few drops of clove oil in the palm of your hand and massage your feet. For added relief, you can mix the clove oil with a few drops of coconut oil.

Cayenne Pepper Baths

Cayenne pepper contains a natural pain reliever known as Capsaicin. It will provide immediate relief to all types of foot pain. Fill a plastic wash basin with very warm water and add ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the water. Sit down in front of the basin and soak your feet for about 20 minutes. Repeat several times a day, as needed for pain.

Vinegar Wraps

Foot injuries and tendonitis can benefit from the application of vinegar soaked wraps. For this treatment, you'll alternate between hot and cold wraps.

Supplies You'll Need

  • Vinegar
  • Towels
  • Water
  • Pan

Directions

  1. Place four cups each of vinegar and water in a large pan.
  2. Heat the mixture until it is almost hot.
  3. Pour the solution over your towel to get it wet.
  4. Wring your towel out and wrap it around your feet.
  5. Leave the towel on your feet for about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the towels from your feet.
  7. Combine four cups each of vinegar and cold water in the sink.
  8. Soak your towel in the cold water solution.
  9. Wring out the towel and wrap it around your feet for another 10 minutes.
  10. Continue alternating between hot and cold for about 30 minutes.
